The Pajama Game - 16th-20th March 2010
For 2010, our second show in a row at the Gulbenkian Theatre, we chose a neglected show from the classic era of Broadway successes.
The Pajama Game features well-loved songs such as 'Hey There', 'Hernando's Hideaway' and many others. Though it may not be as well-known as other shows from the 1950s, the Society had a lot of fun with it, and so did our audiences.

The Pajama Game was directed by Stephen Creswell, with musical direction from Steven Wassell and choreography by Caroline Milsom. Dances included a Latin number as well as jive and more. Costumes called for much inventiveness from Linda McCann who had the tricky task of making factory workers visually interesting and also had to kit the entire cast out in pyjamas for the finale! The production won the Society our second Accolade of Excellence from NODA.
Writing for thisiskent, John Nurden said we "really showed how to turn up the heat" and that the show "set new standards for amateur productions", noting how topical the strike at the heart of the plot seemed in today's climate.
Our review from NODA called this an "imaginative and highly successful production".
