Canterbury Operatic Society has been performing shows and concerts in the Canterbury area for over 100 years.

Four of our recent productions  were awarded Accolades of Excellence by NODA South East and we aim to build on this standard with each new performance.

Whether you like performing or prefer to be out of the limelight doing vital work backstage or front of house, we welcome new members warmly.  Please get in contact!

Our recent productions have all been well received. These have included the Gilbert and Sullivan classic, The Pirates of Penzance (2015), Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd (2014), Anything Goes (2013) and Guys and Dolls (2012), all at the Marlowe Theatre in Canterbury.  Before this, we performed at the Gulbenkian theatre on the University of Kent's Canterbury campus for three years, with productions of Into the Woods (2011), The Pajama Game (2010) and The Pirates of Penzance (2009).

About us

We have just completed a well-received run of Singin' in the Rain, at the Marlowe Theatre in Canterbury. Our NODA review is very enthusiastic about the production.

Watch this space for information on future shows, including The Mikado, which will be next Spring's big show.

In the mean time, here are some of our Singin' in the Rain performance photos by photographer Matthew Ebbage.
