Canterbury Operatic Society has been performing shows and concerts in the Canterbury area for over 100 years.

Whether you like performing or prefer to be out of the limelight doing vital work backstage or front of house, we welcome new members warmly.  Please get in contact!

Four of our recent productions have been awarded Accolades of Excellence by NODA South East and we aim to build on this standard with each new performance.

Productions at the redeveloped Marlowe Theatre have been The Mikado (2017), Singin' in the Rain (2016), The Pirates of Penzance (2015), Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd (2014), Anything Goes (2013) and Guys and Dolls (2012). We also perform concerts and hold social events.

About us

We have just completed a highly enjoyable run of Gilbert and Sullivan's The Mikado at the Marlowe Theatre. Comments from our audience were extremely positive.

Watch this space for news of what we're up to next, plus a look at what went on in the town of Titipu-on-Sea!

In the mean time, here are a few snaps from the lead-up to the production: our President, Ben Roddy, wishes the principal cast good luck, and some shots from our seaside photo shoot.
