Canterbury Operatic Society has been performing shows and concerts in the Canterbury area for over 100 years.

Three of our recent productions  were awarded Accolades of Excellence by NODA South East and we aim to build on this standard with each new performance.

Whether you like performing or prefer to be out of the limelight doing vital work backstage or front of house, we welcome new members warmly.  Please get in contact!

About us

DO YOU WANT TO BE A PIRATE? Our next show will be The Pirates of Penzance, and we would love to recruit a band of pirates, a bevy of beautiful daughters, a constabulary's worth of policemen and more.  Come along to rehearsals on Friday 9th January and Tuesday 13th January to get a flavour for the music and hear about the show.  Auditions for main roles will be held on Friday 16th January - anyone interested should try to attend the Tuesday 13th rehearsal to run through audition piueces and take a look at the list of audition pieces (PDF). Old members and newcomers all welcome!

Friday rehearsals/auditions are at All Saints Hall, Military Road, Canterbury CT1 1PA, 7.30pm.

Tuesday rehearsals will take place at The Archbishop's School, St. Stephen's Hill, Canterbury CT2 7AP, 7.30pm.

The show will be performed at the Marlowe Theatre in from Tuesday 26th- Saturday 30th May 2015.
